A Brief History of K&J Catering
This year K&J Catering celebrates it’s 30th anniversary! K&J opened it’s doors in 1984, providing catering services for mostly friends and family. Owners Kurt and Jean worked out of a commercial kitchen for a few years before bringing operations in house, literally! Kurt and Jean renovated their basement into a commercial kitchen and worked out of their home in Lake Elmo. As the business grew, it was time to move to a new location. In 1994, K&J moved to North St. Paul where they operated out of a commercial kitchen. In addition to providing off premise catering services, K&J opened up their own venue, the Celebration Room. A few years later, a second venue was purchased, the Victorian Room.
Since 1984, K&J Catering has taken pride in providing custom, quality catering at affordable prices. K&J works personally with each customer to make their event unique and flawless, whether it is a wedding, retirement party, or anything in between. In the 30 years of operation, K&J has remained a family owned and operated business. K&J’s unique cooking has remained as strong as the family tradition. Over the past 30 years, K&J has been applying the same charcoal grilling techniques. Hundreds of thousands of pounds of charcoal have been burned and in each season. Whether it is negative thirty degrees in January or hailing in June, K&J is out cooking in any element, assuring delicious food at every event.
K&J has become a family tradition for many and has catered multiple events for the same clients. K&J Catering would like to thank all of their loyal clients over the past 30 years! Thanks to our clients, we can celebrate another year of providing our catering services to Minnesota!
